Accommodation for International Students

The university can usually offer rooms to most new, first-year students, but they can’t guarantee accommodation.

If you're joining us as a first  year undergraduate, you'll be able to choose from a range of halls and houses in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough. After your first year at Anglia Ruskin, you'll probably be looking to rent with friends. Either way, Residential Service Team can help you find the perfect place to live.

·        ARU advises students to apply for accommodation as soon as they have accepted their offer of an academic place at the university. Students who apply early will have the best chance of securing their first choice of accommodation.

They can also help you to find private rented accommodation.

·        In both Cambridge and Chelmsford the university accommodation is close to the city centres, within walking distance of train stations with fast links to London.

·        All accommodation is self-catering, but meals can be purchased from multiple on-site catering outlets, if required. These amenities are open during the day from Monday to Friday, while vending machines are accessible 24/7.

·        The university can also help if students have any medical requirements; there are a selection of rooms suitable for a range of disabilities, and a few rooms with provision for an adjacent live-in carer.

Prices from halls are from approximately £92.61-£159.14. There is no official guarantee of accommodation for first-year students, but in reality the university can accommodate about 90% of applicants from outside the local eligibility distance radius, which is 35 miles for Cambridge and 15 miles for Chelmsford
