Simon Fraser University, commonly referred to as SFU, is a public research university in British Columbia, Canada .

Established in 1965 on B.C.’s scenic west coast, Simon Fraser University consistently ranks among Canada’s top comprehensive universities. The university has pioneered an open, inclusive approach to higher education that fuels learning, discovery, community outreach and global connectedness

At three campuses in Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey, SFU offers a vast array of programs across eight faculties: Applied Sciences; Arts and Social Sciences; Business; Communication, Art and Technology; Education; Environment; Health Sciences; and Science.

SFU offers students a range of experiential opportunities such as work-integrated learning, international field schools and exchanges, and the innovative Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue program focusing on social and civic issues.

IELTS: minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0,

The minimum graduate program admission requirements for test scores:

IELTS (academic)              overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE COURSES: 

o             All applicants must demonstrate competence in Quantitative and Analytical skills.

o             You need a minimum of 50% in Senior Mathematics for admission (based on a 35% pass scale).

•             All India Senior School Certificate / Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) / India School Certificate (12 year)

o             Submit transcript which includes interim standard XII level marks. Admission is calculated on all standard XII level academic subjects.

•             Standard XII level Math

Admission to Master's Program

Minimum Equivalent Qualifications.

For admission to a master’s program, the qualifications listed are normally recognized as equivalent to a Simon Fraser University 4-year bachelor’s degree with a minimumoverall grade of B

Applicants must arrange for the submission of detailed mark sheets and degree certificates with certified English (literal) translations.

 Shell House Basement:

 Shell Basement is one of  largest community lounges with games (including a pool table, mini basketball net, and hockey table), a small library with books for students to enjoy, and cozy furniture for hanging out and studying.

Madge Hogarth Community Space:

Madge Hogarth Community Space offers a comfortably furnished TV lounge, a kitchen, a video games room, a music rehearsal space with access to musical instruments, large group study spaces, and a small computer lounge, as well as individual working spaces. This space cultivates well-being by providing home to the Residence Life staff offices. students with a safe space to relax, de-stress, study and socialize

 Townhouse Lounge:

 Townhouse Lounge (located along the breezeway across from Pauline Jewitt House Tower) is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to re-open in Fall 2017. This will be a commo space for Townhouse Residents with TV, WiFi, and cozy furniture for hanging out and studying.

Vancouver Residence:

 The Amenity Room (kitchen and lounge) on the 2 nd floor of the Charles Chang Innovation Centre (located below the Vancouver Residence) is a space shared with the SFU Beedie School of Business. It is available to residentsin the evenings (6:30pm onwards) and on weekends.

Upon enrollment at SFU, international students can access most forms of financial assistance administered by SFU, including scholarships, awards, bursaries and the Work-Study program.

Awards for International Students

International students are eligible for many of the awards administered through Simon Fraser University.

Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships

SFU recognizes high school students who demonstrate excellence in both their academic and extracurricular activities.  The value of a scholarship may range from $10,000 up to an amount sufficient to cover all tuition and mandatory supplementary fees normally required for the completion of a student’s first undergraduate degree at SFU.

Graduate students are eligible for a variety of financial assistance programs including entrance or continuing scholarships, graduate fellowships, awards, teaching and research assistantships, bursaries and loans. Total scholarship support cannot exceed $50,000 per academic year.
