Cambrian College is a college of applied arts and technology in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1967, and funded by the province of Ontario, Cambrian has campuses in Sudbury, Espanola and Little Current. Cambrian provides career-oriented education that combines theory with practical, hands-on experience to ensure an educated, skilled graduate.

Cambrian works in partnership with school boards, training institutes, universities, and other institutions – locally, nationally and internationally – in order to provide additional educational opportunities and to share expertise and resources.

Cambrian’s commitment to its many communities is evidenced by the Wabnode Institute, the college’s centre for the advancement of First Nations education, and by its status as a leader in meeting the needs of persons with disabilities.

 

The language of instruction for all Cambrian College programs is English. Students applying must have sufficient English language skills and experience to fully participate in classroom lectures, assignments, discussions and examinations. Minimum English requirements include:

IELTS                   

Diploma / Certificate        6.0 (no band under 5.5)                            

Grad Certificate                  6.5 (no band under 6.0)                           

 

Post-Secondary

•             A study gap no larger than 2 years. Some exceptions made for students with excellent grades and a 3 year gap

•             Admission into a 3 year program – may only have 6 failures. If an applicant has an overall average of 65%, they may accept 8 failures.

•             Admission into a 4 year program – may only have 8 failures. If an applicant has an overall average of 65% they may accept 10 failures.

•             Program must be complimentary and value added to their previous education.

•             Student should have a minimum Second Class of C level with an overall minimum score of 50% in their more recently completed diploma or degree.

Graduate Programs

Imagine walking just a few steps to get to class. No buses, traffic, or long treks. Cambrian’s residences are located on campus and offer a convenient, safe, and fun way to balance studying and socializing.

 The dorm-style and townhouse-style residences can accommodate 677 students.

 Dorm-style units include two single bedrooms, a three-piece bathroom, and a kitchenette. Each bedroom includes a double bed, a closet, built-in wardrobe, a study desk and chair, and phone and internet access.

Townhouse residences offer six bedrooms, two of which have design adjustments to accommodate special needs. The bedrooms contain a captain’s bed and all the amenities of a dorm-style room. There are three bathrooms in the units – one full bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet, and two half bathrooms with a toilet and sink or tub / shower and sink.

Resident Advisors will be there to support and guide you during your stay and to help ensure that you have an enjoyable and successful year at Cambrian.

 

Off-Campus Accommodations

The local area has a variety of off-campus rental housing options including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research availability on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.

Homestay

There are a wide variety of homestay options available, and partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.

 

 

 

International students are not eligible for the same assistance granted to the Canadian students.

However, Cambrian College is pleased to inform you that they do have over $50,000 in scholarships specifically for International students and International students are eligible for $100,000 in non-specific awards.
