Cape Breton is a friendly and safe community, and the campus at CBU is just as welcoming. Students are encouraged to live on campus, especially during their first year, because it is a great way to meet new friends from all over the world.  You will be happy to know that all first-year students are guaranteed a room in residence!
CABOT RESIDENCE is an apartment-style dorm where each apartment has four private bedrooms and two bathrooms, all built around a shared living room and kitchen. So gather your roomies and host a dinner party!
ALUMNI HALL is where you can choose from traditional dorm rooms or trendy, apartment-style living spaces. What best fits your style?
HARRISS HALL is where you’ll find single and private rooms with a mix of private and shared washroom facilities. Is this your best fit? Harriss Hall is where you’ll also find restaurant-style dining and a pantry where you can cook for yourself – if that’s your thing. From comfort food to the freshest and most nutritious eats, even the pickiest of eaters will find their cravings here.
Living Off-Campus
Some students prefer to live off-campus. Safe, affordable and welcoming communities surround CBU, so you will have lots of options when choosing your new home.
Students who plan to live outside Cape Breton University can go to the Off-Campus Housing Directory. Here, students can find all the information regarding housing arrangements that are within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Students can also find tips and suggestions on how to make their home a more satisfying place to live in.
Cape Breton University does not own or maintain these apartments. Many international students begin by living in residence, and later a few students decide to move off-campus in their second or third year.
