Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP) is a government-funded tertiary education institution, offering a wide range of high quality NZQA-approved practical and vocational learning opportunities.

It  is a selection of campuses spread across New Zealand offering many different courses in tertiary education. The main campus is based in Greymouth on the West Coast region of New Zealand, but also incorporates the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand (MAINZ) in Auckland and Christchurch; and the Training for Industry Centres also in Auckland and Christchurch.

Specialist campuses are also located at Auckland, Palmerston North, Hamilton, Christchurch, Reefton, Wanaka, Invercargill and Westport.

At TPP it  takes a people-centred approach to learning. The  tutors are experts in their respective fields, maintain excellent industry connections and are passionate about teaching. The  campus staff and tutors are always available to offer advice and support. . The  students achieve success, both in their studies and in finding employment after graduation.

Students come from far and wide to study at TPP and many choose to stay at Tai Poutini Village,  hostel accommodation located next to the Greymouth campus and near the town centre.  The hostel offers 58 individual rooms in six units. Each unit has a shared common room (with television), bathroom and kitchen. All units are supplied with king single beds, furnishings, a fridge/freezer, microwave and basic cooking equipment. Coin-operated washing machines and dryers are also available.

In Greymouth Tai Poutini Polytechnic has a range of accommodation sites within close walking distance of the main campus and situated only 600 meters from the downtown shopping centre. Private board and rental accommodation is also available close to the campus.

In Auckland and Christchurch there is numerous accommodation options available and help can be provided if  needed. In Wanaka students normally share rental accommodation, which is readily available.
