As an ACU student, you can choose from a variety of housing options to suit your lifestyle and budget. Housing options include:

 1. ACU Student Accommodation

 2. Rental accommodation (shared and private)

3. Other student accommodation

 4. Homestay.

LONG-TERM ACCOMMODATION

 ACU Student Accommodation

It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a Living and Learning Community. ACU student accommodation is currently available in Sydney, Canberra and Ballarat. No matter which campus you chose, there is an accommodation option to suit you.

Miguel Cordero Residence in Sydney is located in the student hub of Camperdown, which is very close to Sydney’s city centre.

Camillus Residence in Ballarat has been refurbished and offers residents the opportunity to get the most out of their university experience. The property has on-site parking, a games and recreational space as well as a full sized tennis court.

More independent students might choose to live in a managed residential house in Ballarat. These houses are fully furnished and offer all the same support as living in student accommodation with the freedom of living off-campus.

MacKillop House in Canberra provides female students with a friendly, vibrant and supportive environment that is safe and affordable. Set in the quiet inner north suburb of Lyneham, MacKillop House is ideal for settling into university and city life. Managed by ACU, this residence offers a fully catered accommodation option with access to quality communal facilities.

ACU also hosts a number of managed residential homes within walking distance of the campus.

Rental Accommodation (Shared and Private) Temporary housing:

It’s a good idea to book a short-term accommodation option for your arrival in Australia, particularly for the first one or two weeks. This option provides you with housing on arrival and gives you the opportunity to search for permanent accommodation once you have settled in.

Private/shared housing:

You should budget approximately A$150-$300 per week to rent a property shared with others. Utilities and food are not included in this estimate. Rental prices vary depending on location. You may choose to live in private rental accommodation near your campus or in the city, depending on your budget. We do not recommend securing private or shared accommodation before arriving in Australia as it is best to view each property in person.

Other Student Accommodation

Specialised student apartment accommodation is available near most ACU campuses. With this kind of accommodation, the fees you pay usually cover utility bills and, in many cases, Wi-Fi access.

 SHORT-TERM ACCOMMODATION

You may wish to book short-term accommodation when you arrive in Australia. This will give you time to look for long-term accommodation without having to rush. All ACU Student Accommodation properties offer short stays based on availability throughout the year. Contact the properties directly to arrange your stay.

Homestay

Homestay accommodation gives you the opportunity to live with a local family while studying in Australia. It is available from a few weeks to many months. By living with an Australian family, you will gain a better understanding of Australian life. All ACU Homestay placements are arranged by the Australian Homestay Network (AHN).

Hostels

Hostels can be a good option for short-term accommodation as they are usually cheaper than a hotel, and centrally located.
