Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.

The University's main campus is in the Adelaide inner southern suburb of Bedford Park, about 12 km south of the Adelaide city centre. The University also has a presence in Victoria Square in the centre of the city, and Tonsley. There are also buildings at a number of regional locations across south Australia, south west Australia and the Northern Territory. Students also have the opportunity to study abroad in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Malaysia.

The university offers teaching across four faculties: education, humanities and law, medicine, nursing and health sciences, science and engineering and social and behavioural sciences. It offers more than 160 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across these faculties.

Flinders University enjoys a well-justified reputation for its excellence in teaching and research. It has a long-standing commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for all and a proud record of community engagement. Since being established in 1966, Flinders has achieved much of which we can be very proud—in innovative research, in high quality teaching and in community engagement.
