Macquarie University is a public research university based in Sydney, Australia, in the suburb of Macquarie Park. Founded in 1964 by the New South Wales Government, it was the third university to be established in the metropolitan area of Sydney

Established as a verdant university, Macquarie has five faculties, as well as the Macquarie University Hospital and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, which are located on the university's main campus in suburban Sydney.

The university is the first in Australia to fully align its degree system with the Bologna Accord.

The standard English language proficiency required for entry into most Macquarie University degrees is IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent).

Some courses (including education, law, and translating and interpreting) have higher requirement.

UNDERGRADUATE

 For direct admission into an undergraduate (bachelor) course, you will need one of the following qualifications:

 • a recognised high school qualification.

India Year 12 (ISC, CBSE, State Boards)  60% = ATAR 75%

 • a recognised university foundation course. We accept qualifications from most Australian universities, as well as some approved international providers

• a recognised two- or three-year diploma – equivalent to Australian diploma or advanced diploma levels.

 • at least one year of a university degree from a recognised institution – equivalent to Australian bachelor or masters degree

POSTGRADUATE (COURSEWORK)

entry requires a bachelor degree equivalent to level 7 on the Australian Qualifications Framework.

For some courses, your degree will need to be in a specific or related area. Others require a particular GPA (out of 4.0).

INDIA 45-49% = GPA 4.25

admissions team will determine whether your bachelor degree is equivalent to level 7 when you apply to Macquarie. For some courses, your degree will need to be in a specific or related area.

Research Qualifications:

Master of Research

You must have a bachelor degree from a recognised institution, at a specified level of performance – usually the equivalent of a credit average (65 per cent) in your final year (or 300-level).

Doctor of Philosophy

i.             Applicant to have completed the Macquarie University's Master of Research (MRes) with at least 75% in second year of the MRes; OR

ii.            Applicant to have completed a Master of Philosophy; OR

iii.           Applicant to have completed Master's degree from another institution with major research component. The size and length of the research thesis may vary, but it is expected to be of an equivalent scale and scope to the Macquarie University MRes thesis. Performance to be at Distinction level (75% or greater).
