The University of South Australia (UniSA) is a public research university in the Australian state of South Australia. It is the largest university in South Australia with more than 32,000 students.

The University is a founding member of the Australian Technology Network of universities. It has two Adelaide city centre campuses, two Adelaide metropolitan campuses, and two South Australian regional campuses.

The University of South Australia delivers its offshore degree programs in collaboration with private institutions in Hong Kong Baptist University and other higher education institutions throughout Asia.

The University of South Australia (UniSA) is South Australia’s largest university, combining a global outlook with local engagement and a strong research focus. Programs are designed with professional emphasis and in partnership with industry, assisting students to gain the experience and expertise required to make an impact in their career. Focussing on real-world experience, UniSA provides students with the qualities employers look for.

Known for their  teaching quality, high level of support for students, and strengths in areas such as engineering, education, art and design, nursing and more, they are  building strong foundations for future growth.

UniSA is recognised globally as an enthusiastic, creative and capable business partner with well over 2,500 national and international partnerships. These reinforce their  teaching and research programs, and provide real opportunities for the students.

It has  invested heavily in new buildings and facilities. The  students use the latest technologies and learn in modern, purpose-built teaching spaces. They contribute actively to the intellectual, cultural and sporting life in South Australia through legacies such as the Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, the Hawke Centre, and through the  sponsorship of events including the Santos Tour Down Under – the largest cycling race in the southern hemisphere.

Each year  on-campus health and legal clinics also provide thousands of free and low cost services to the local community. Since 1991, more than 150,000 students  have graduated from more than 140 countries. It is  one of the leading providers of education internationally and a trailblazer in the area of access to higher education.

It is  a young, confident university, and it dreams to create  culture of enterprise. A culture where people are bold, imaginative and prepared to take risks to respond to local, national and global challenges.

Dedicated student accommodation

Dedicated student housing offers well-equipped accommodation options with the added benefit of living alongside fellow students.

 Student hostels $135–$200 per week

Student hostels provide fully-furnished single rooms with a shared kitchen, bathroom and recreational facilities.

Bills (such as electricity) are included in the rent.

These are great places to meet fellow students and build networks.

 Student apartments $150– $390 per week .

A variety of student apartment options are available in the city and near our suburban campuses. These include fully-furnished one to six bedroom apartments, and spaces with shared kitchen, living and bathroom facilities. Chores and household expenses are usually negotiated with fellow tenants.

Private rental accommodation

You may prefer to organise your own private housing and we have made searching easier through our Rental Database.

Student Rental Database

This is a great way to find the ideal place to stay. Login for exclusive search access or use the site app from your mobile device. You can also look for vacancies through real estate agencies and newspaper classifieds.

Visit :  unisa.edu.au/accommodation/rental

Note: the University does not inspect private rental properties (including those in the rental database). It is very important that you inspect the accommodation carefully and meet future housemates before paying money or agreeing to lease.

Private rental $100–$350 per week

Renting privately can be a very affordable housing option if you are prepared to shop around. You can rent an entire property, share with other students, or live in a home with a family, couple or single person.

Student accommodation providers

A number of providers offer a variety of dedicated student accommodation options conveniently located at sites around the city and nearby to our campuses.

 UniLodge

All sites are located within walking distance of the University’s city campuses, shopping precincts including the Adelaide Central Market and cosmopolitan East End, and public transport links. Options include affordable share accommodation, single rooms, deluxe apartments and more.

 Urbanest

Located in the heart of Adelaide city, urbanest North Terrace is directly across the road from the central railway and tram stations and bus links to a number of suburbs. It is a five-minute walk to Rundle Mall – Adelaide’s premier shopping precinct – and in between our City East and City West campuses. Whether you want to live in a shared apartment or your own studio room, urbanest North Terrace offers a variety of rooms to suit a range of budgets.

Homestay / private boarding $250–$300 per week. Students can live in a home with a family, couple or single person. Costs include your own furnished room, meals and utilities. Stays can be as short as four to six weeks.

TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION
