Oxford Brookes University is a public university in Oxford, England.

It is consistently ranked as one of the best modern universities in the UK .Your imagination will be sparked by ideas from fellow students, as well as people like mentors, members of the societies you join and also the wider Oxford community. It is home to some of the UK’s best university teaching, with lecturers who ignite a passion for their subject and go the extra mile to help you succeed. Postgraduate courses are designed both to expand and develop knowledge and to be applicable to the real world. Research and teaching are closely linked, offering a well-developed postgraduate community, and the University offers a strong support network of students and staff. Oxford Brookes enjoys an international reputation for academic excellence, exciting student life and strong links with business and industry at a local, national and international level. The university has innovative courses with an emphasis on practice as well as theory and teaching staff with strong backgrounds in industry.

The university is spread across four campuses, with three primary sites based in and around Oxford, all with libraries, 24-hour computer rooms, libraries, playing fields, shops, accommodation, social spaces and study areas. Its students are spread over three campuses: Headington and Harcourt Hill are each a little distance from the city centre; Wheatley is about seven miles away in the Oxfordshire countryside.

A fourth campus is located in the town of Swindon, about 30 miles from Oxford, home to courses in adult nursing, operating department practice and continuing professional development courses.

It comprises four faculties, including Business, Health and Life Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Technology, Design and Environment (within which, its School of Architecture is recognised as being one of the largest in Britain).

With a large student body, most undergraduates study at the university on a full-time or sandwich basis. It has several thousand international students who between them represent more than 130 countries.

The university lays claim to around 100 partner agreements with higher education institutions worldwide, enabling students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities in Australia, the US, Europe, Asia and South America. It also offers work placements in Europe.

The university motto is ‘Excellence in diversity.’

The university’s Headington campus, which houses Headington Hill Hall, is set amid 14 acres of lush green countryside and was previously home to the media tycoon Robert Maxwell.

Oxford is a student-friendly city and there are all the facilities you could want in town. It is also a centre for leading industries and Brookes's links in the region mean great opportunities for work placements across all areas, from publishing and healthcare to environmental agencies and Formula One.

Accommodation for International Students

·        International students are guaranteed a place in halls of residence for their 1st year of study, provided they meet the application and allocation deadlines.

·        The university halls of residence are a great way to meet people and make new friends. Students will be with people from all over the world so they can learn about different cultures and meet a real mix of people.

·        The halls provide a safe and secure living environment, with supervisors, wardens and security guards on hand.

·        University accommodation is also available to students after their 1st year. Students can book accommodation with a group of friends and choose one of the options specifically designed for continuing students.

Most of our halls are self-catered. You share a kitchen and living room with a small number of fellow students and cook for yourself.

You have your own study bedroom, usually with a private en suite shower room containing a shower, basin and wc.

India Undergraduate Scholarship

Students from India are eligible to apply for undergraduate scholarships which are worth £6,000 in total.  Successful applicants will receive £2,000 each year for 3 years.

International foundation scholarships

Students with an offer for an international foundation course are eligible to apply for one of our £2,000 Richard Haill International Scholarships.

There are numerous other scholarships. Please refer university website for detail qualifications required.

Other scholarships

You can also apply for the British Government's Chevening Scholarships, and a variety of private agencies and charities for scholarships, bursaries and grants to study in the UK. For more information visit the British Council website or the UK Council for International Student Affairs website.
