City, University of London is a public research university in London in the United Kingdom. Until 2016 its name was City University, London, or colloquially, City.

It is a leading international university and the only university in London to be both committed to academic excellence and focused on business and the professions. They  have a long tradition of academic excellence, dating back to their  foundation in 1894. City University London is made up of five different schools: Cass Business School, the School of Arts & Social Sciences, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering and the City Law School. English Language Requirements

·        English requirements vary from course to course.

·        Pre-sessional language courses are available as 4, 8 and 12 week programmes, running from late June to early September.

English requirements can vary, please check under each course page. Applicants holding offers conditional of English may be eligible for pre-sessional English prior to the start of their course.

  • Undergraduate - IELTS 6.0 is required (IELTS 6.5 for business and IELTS 7.0 for journalism and law courses)
  • Postgraduate -  IELTS 6.5 is required (IELTS 7.0 for business, journalism and law courses)

·        Applicants will be considered for most postgraduate courses with a good bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.

·        Students who don’t meet the requirements for direct entry may have the option to undertake our Graduate Diploma programme at INTO City, which then offers the opportunity for guaranteed entry into City’s Masters programmes.

Accommodation for International Students

·        City, University of London works with several third party housing providers offering safe and modern accommodation within easy travelling distance of the main City buildings.

·        International students attending the university for the full academic year are eligible to apply for accommodation in City's nominated halls. For undergraduate students, the terms and conditions of City's accommodation Guarantee Scheme for undergraduate students will apply, please refer to the university website.

·        Exchange and Erasmus students who are only studying at City for one semester can also apply for accommodation through the university's Study Abroad Office for a limited number of rooms with shorter contracts of September–December and January–June. Priority for rooms is given to students from organisations that have an official agreement with the Study Abroad Office. 

·        Prices and room availability are available on request through the Study Abroad Office.

City, University of London scholarships

City, University of London Global Leaders Scholarship

City is offering a minimum of 50 scholarships of £1000 to International and EU students starting an undergraduate course at City .

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and applicants' personal statements.

The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

The scholarship is aimed at students who achieve exceptional grades at ‘A’ Level or International Baccalaureate. Students are referred to the full terms and conditions for the Scholarship for the grade requirements.

City has a wide range of scholarship opportunities available for students in all five of its Schools.
