About University: Established in 1977, Institute of Technology, Tralee is based over two campuses. The North campus, located in Dromtacker, and the South campus, located in Clash, are approximately 2.4km apart. Located in the North campus is the School of Business and Social Studies, which includes the Business Informatics Department, the Business Studies and Humanities Department and the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Department. Also in the North campus is the Computing and Mathematics Department and the Nursing and Health Care Studies Department, which are part of the School of Science and Computing.

The remainder of the school – the Chemical and Life Sciences Department and the Health and Leisure Studies Department – is located in the South campus. Also in the South campus is the School of Engineering and Construction Studies, which includes the Agricultural and Manufacturing Engineering Department, the Civil Engineering and Construction Studies Department, the Apprentice Section and the Accelerated Technician Section.

Bursaries: Munster GAA Bursary Scheme
 • VALUE: €750 per year, subject to satisfactory academic performance each year.
 • DURATION: Two year maximum subject to annual reapplication and review.
 • HOW TO APPLY: You may apply directly to the IT, Tralee GAA Games Promotion Office or to the Munster.
 • GAA OFFICE: This scholarship is ONLY OPEN to ITT registered students from the Munster region.

Accommodation: The International Office at IT Tralee provides information on accommodation and assists students in selecting accommodation.

Most accommodation in Tralee is within walking or cycling distance of the Institute. One can also avail of a shuttle bus service from the town centre to the Institute.

Concerning long term accommodation, houses and apartments rented to students in Ireland are usually furnished.

Students can consider the following options:
• Apartments- (An Sean Mhuileann, Kerry Lee Student Village, Coisceim Village, Town Centre Apartments, Carraig House, Basin Court, King's Court Student Apartments, Tennis Village). Students can book these on arrival or in advance using the information under Apartments.
• Houses - Many students rent a house and share the costs (see Estate Agents, International Office, local newspapers etc). This option is suitable if one is staying for the full academic year or at least a full semester.
• Staying with a family - This option may suit some students but it has its limitations.

Admission Requirement*: General Admissions Requirements Academic Year Higher Certificate (Level 6 NFQ)
Applicants must achieve a pass in the Leaving Certificate or equivalent examinations, obtaining a minimum grade OD3 in English or Gaeilge, OD3 in Mathematics or a minimum grade of B2 in Foundation Level Mathematics and OD3 in three other subjects.

IELTS Requirements: IELTS 5.5 (No less than a 5.0 in any one band)
